Glass Fibre Reinforced Gypsum (GRG)
Glass Fibre Reinforced Gypsum (GRG) is primarily composed of two raw materials: high density alpha based gypsum and glass fibre reinforcement. This gypsum plaster reinforced with glass fibres to produce a thin lightweight yet strong material. GRG offers an endless variety of decorative and ornamental shapes and forms at affordable prices. This material is promoted by the architects and designers due to its many selling points. To list a few of the many selling points it holds superior fire retardant properties and offers a variety of shapes.
Advantages
- Flame resistant: GRG is a mineral and will not burn.
- In addition, the nature of gypsum acts like a thermal regulator when exposed to flame.
- GRG not only will not burn but it also protects the material behind it from the heat of the flame for up to one hour.

Applications
GRG is for use where it is not subject to dampness. It can be used wherever a light, strong and fire retardant material is required in ships, casinos, hotels, theatres residential, etc. as Mouldings, Ceilings, columns, light coves, Bas relief, Domes, Capitals, arches, medallions and custom shapes.
